Background:
About Classical Theatre Project
Classical Theatre Project is Canada’s most acclaimed producer of classical theatre for teens. Since 2001, CTP has inspired and entertained over half a million students across Canada and the US with classic plays.

Our manifesto is simple:
We believe that young people should experience Shakespeare live.
We believe that students of all backgrounds can recognize themselves and their world in Shakespeare’s plays.
We believe that by using theatre to stimulate, educate and inspire students, we can increase their confidence and cultural literacy.

Together with teachers and presenting partners across North America, we are creating a movement to prove to students that Shakespeare doesn’t have to be boring.

About Romeo & Juliet
Classical Theatre Project’s most popular production to date is William Shakespeare’s timeless story of star-cross’d love. Set traditionally in an Elizabethan marketplace and wholly embracing Shakespeare’s vibrant language, it is the energy, talent and dedication of Classical Theatre Project’s youthful cast that makes each performance of Romeo & Juliet feel more like a rock concert than a classic play.
Join more than 100,000 students from across North America who have been inspired by this stunning production with a new respect and understanding of Shakespeare’s work.
