Scott Baird

Scott Baird is excited to meet and work with all the talented students here at MPAC! Having recently performed in MPAC’s Spring Musical Shrek, he knows firsthand how dedicated, hardworking, and passionate all the students and staff member are here. When he is not working at MPAC, you can find him performing in many different theatres all over New Jersey. He also works with special needs students in Parsippany and run the Drama program at Montville Township High School. He graduated from Montclair State University where he received a B.A. in Theatre Studies concentrating in Directing. As a performer he has the opportunity to explore many excited roles such as Lord Farquaad (Shrek, MPAC), Emmett (Legally Blonde, Barn Theatre), Leo Frank (Parade, Old Library Theatre), Bud Frump (H2$, Cranford Dramatic Club), Thenardier (Les Miserables, New Vision Players, 2014 NJACT Perry Award Winner for Best Featured Actor in a Musical), Fredrick (Young Frankenstein, Old Library Theatre) Leo Bloom (The Producers, Brundage Park Playhouse), and many more! He is also an avid theatre director and have directed shows such as Brighton Beach Memoirs, Catch Me If You Can, Oliver, Pippin, Big Fish, Legally Blonde, & The Drowsy Chaperone.

Jenny Boeckel

Jenny Boeckel has been teaching classes at the Performing Arts School for ten years and loves working with students of all ages. She is a graduate of Muhlenberg College where she majored in theatre and dance. After college Jenny spent time performing with the National Tour 42nd Street.  She moved to New Jersey in 2007 and began teaching drama and dance at various studios and performing arts centers before going back to school to obtain her certification in Elementary Education. She spent four years teaching 2nd grade before returning to the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Jenny lives in Morristown with her husband and twin boys.

Darius Frowner

Darius Frowner is a pianist, musical director and teaching artist. He has worked at the Performing Arts School since it started 10 years ago. He studied music at Rutgers University, and piano with Barry Harris. Outside of his work with children, Darius is very involved in the Cabaret scene in Manhattan, and has won awards for his work as musical director with Broadway artists. He often coaches performers for Broadway auditions, and plays for and assists major casting directors. 

Maria Gentile

Maria Gentile

Maria Gentile has been on the Teaching Staff at Mayo since the beginning of 2010. She is a graduate of Tufts College where she majored in theatre. She has been a professional Singer/Songwriter, Actor, Director and Comedian since 1983. Maria has been writing and Directed Cabaret shows in NYC since the late 90’s And for the last 17 years have had the wonderful experience of performing 4 nights a week as a singer/comedian at The Duplex Cabaret & Piano Bar in Greenwich Village, two of those nights running “SINGER SPOTLIGHT NIGHT” with Darius Frowner. She has 2 albums of original music, and is currently working on her third. Maria continues to pursue a Career in Television Commercials and Voice-overs. 

Dayna Grayber

Dayna Grayber

Dayna Grayber has been teaching private voice, performing and directing around the NYC/NJ area for the past eight years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Emerson College and her Master’s in Music for Vocal Performance: Music Theater from NYU: Steinhardt. National Tours include THE PRODUCERS and THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. When she returned to New York, she continued to perform Off- Broadway, regionally, direct locally and privately teach vocal technique, song interpretation, and audition technique.

Grace Greig has been teaching classes at the Performing Arts School for over five years. She has been working professionally in musical theatre for over 25 years including: B’way,Off- B’way, National tours, European Tours, as well as many other regional credits. After studying musical theatre at Banff Center of the Performing Arts, which included theatre, voice, and dance, she continued her studies in both Toronto and New York. As a teacher, Grace began years ago assisting at Weist-Baron Studios in NYC. After some time off to pursue her favorite roll (being a mom ), she began volunteering and teaching at a local not-for-profit school

Rose Hemingway

Rose Hemingway is so pleased to be back teaching at PAS this Fall!  Rose has a Bachelor of Music from Catholic University where she majored in Musical Theatre.  For the past 13 years she has been lucky enough to work as an actor in NYC and all across the country.  Broadway and Nat’l tour credits include Rosemary in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Lauren in Kinky Boots, and Sophie in Mamma Mia!  She lives in NYC with her husband Geoff and their son Jack.

Keith Hermann

Keith Herrmann

Keith Herrmann has been a musical director and conductor on Broadway for a number of shows. He was the original pianist/synthesist on CATS, recorded its Grammy-award-winning cast album and became its conductor. As a composer, he’s been represented on Broadway with ONWARD VICTORIA and the musical, ROMANCE ROMANCE, which received five Tony nominations, including Best Musical and Best Score. Currently Keith is working on two new projects: a piece about James Dean, and THE HOMEWORK MACHINE, which enjoyed a sold-out run at the Boston Children’s Theatre. 

Lauren Moran Mills

Lauren Moran Mills has been working professionally throughout NJ as a Director, Choreographer and Teaching Artist for the past 17 years starting with Pushcart Players where she remains today as a Teaching Artist in Residence, currently directing The Little Mermaid JR. She has worked at 12Miles West, Dreamcatcher Rep, The Growing Stage Theater, where she is a performer in their New Play- Reading Festival series, and most notably The Women’s Theater Company where she directed and or choreographed a myriad of plays and musicals. Favorites include, Always…Patsy Cline, Working, A Grand Night for Singing, The World Goes Round, The Last Five Years, Romance Romance, and the critically received, Side By Side By Sondheim. She cohosts a weekly radio program on called Chewing the Scenery with Lauren and Danny on internet station homegrownradionj.org dedicated to supporting the theater and arts scene in and around NY and NJ. While not in the theater her favorite role is Mom.

Joe Regan

Joe Regan is a Pianist/Singer who plays in Piano Bars, Cabaret Rooms, on International River Cruises, and Resorts. He opened for Steve Ross at the 75th Anniversary of the Chrysler Building, and has been a MAC Award nominee (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) for Piano Bar Instrumentalist in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2018.

He is currently on staff at the MPAC Performing Arts School, and is a Teaching Artist with the Papermill Playhouse in Education and Outreach.

Andrea Rodriguez

Andrea Rodriguez is so happy to be returning as a teacher to PAS after having an amazing time teach­ing last summer. She has been a professional actor in NYC for almost 10 years. National tours include Disney’s High School Musical and Thoroughly Modem Millie. Most recently, Andrea spent the last 6 years performing as a vocalist and Mrs. Claus in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Jon Rodriguez

Jon Rodriguez

Jon Rodriguez is an actor, director and theater instructor currently living in New York City. He studied with Cathy Roy as a teen, has a degree from the University of the Arts in musical theater, and has traveled the country with numerous shows including a four year stint in Las Vegas as Joe Pesci in Jersey Boys.  Jon resides in NYC with his wife Andrea & son Cali.

Jayme Wappel joined the MPAC family as choreographer for last year’s main stage musical West Side Story.  A North Carolina native, Jayme now resides in NYC. Choreographic credits include: Oklahoma!, Joseph and the Amazing…, Beauty & the Beast, Seussical, Guys & Dolls, Godspell. Performance credits include: West Side Story (Paper Mill Playhouse); Guys & Dolls (Goodspeed Opera House); Mary Poppins, Thoroughly Modern Mille, Starlight Express (Tuacahn Amphitheater); Yo, Vikings! (Pittsburgh Playhouse), Royal Caribbean (aerialist/dancer).
