Accessible Parking

  • MPAC partners with the Parking Authority to arrange accessible on-street parking spaces in front of and adjacent to the theatre.
  • Accessible spots are first-come, first-served. Select metered spots are marked for accessible parking starting two (2) hours prior to each performance. Please check for signage and be sure to pay the meter rate, if applicable.

Public Transit

  • MPAC is about 2 blocks from the Morristown Train Station (NJ Transit)
  • Visit NJTransit.com and click on ‘Accessibility’ at the top to view NJ Transit’s ADA support.

Theatre Access

The Theatre is accessible via ramps and cut-ins. The box office is fully accessible, and the Main Lobby is all one level and barrier-free.

Elevator

Located by Door #4 in the Main Lobby. Provides access to Balcony level and Art Upstairs Gallery.

Restrooms

Located in the Main Lobby and Balcony Lobby. All restrooms have accessible stalls and fixtures. All restrooms have changing tables.

Seating

  • Wheelchair Locations: There are 10 wheelchair locations on the Orchestra level (some can acommodate two (2) wheelchairs). Please specify section/price when calling for seats.* Companion seating is available. Click here to view the seat map.

*Note: Front Rows GCA, GCB, A and B are not available for certain performances due to stage configuration (check with box office).

  • Persons who use wheelchairs and are able to transfer may request an aisle seat when purchasing tickets. Some seats are equipped with removable armrests.

Mobility at the Theatre

  • MPAC is accessible by ramps and curb cut-ins.
  • The box office is fully accessible.
  • The Main Lobby is all one level, and barrier-free.
  • The Balcony lobby is accessible via an elevator by door #4, to the right of the concessions stand. Please note that seating in the balcony is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Accessible water fountains are located by the merchandise counter.
  • Aisles on the Orchestra level are barrier-free.
  • MPAC has two wheelchairs and two special accommodation chairs on site for patron usage.
  • Please remember to advise our box office of your wheelchair or other specific needs prior to, or at the time of, purchasing your tickets so that we may best assist you.

Available Services

  • Digital program books are available to read on the device of your choice.
  • Large print program notes are available for most events; ask the box office or a House Manager for a copy. Please request in advance by notifying the Accessibility Services Coordinator.
  • Audio Description is available at select performances when requested in advance.
  • Braille materials are available for most events with a minimum of two weeks notice.
  • MPAC welcomes the use of trained service dogs. When buying your ticket, please advise our box office representatives of your needs at time of purchase so that we may properly accommodate the size of your service dog.

Available Services

  • We do not have a TTY number so we recommend using the 711 Relay service or MPAC’s Live Chat feature
  • Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available in the box office, free of charge – borrower must present personal ID as a deposit
  • Sign language interpreting and open-captioning are available with a minimum of two (2) weeks advance notice
  • Advance copies of scripts or synopses are available with a minimum of two (2) weeks advance notice
  • Portable Induction Loop System – The loop system works with your hearing aid or cochlear implant (switched to the ‘hearing loop’ or ‘T’ setting) so you may hear conversations more easily, you will find this available in the Box Office.  Find out more

Sensory Friendly performances are modified so that those with sensory sensitivities may share in the family arts experience. These performances feature:

  • Auditorium lights on
  • Modified sound and light levels
  • A Relaxation Station in a separate space: the location of the Relaxation Station may vary by show based on the show’s needs. There will be signage posted to guide patrons to the area during each show it is available, but an MPAC staff member can also assist
  • The ability to get out of your seat and leave/re-enter the seating area
  • Noise cancelling headphones are given out in the same manner as ALDs in the Box Office. They are rented out for free in exchange for a form of ID for us to hold onto until they are returned them at the end of show.
  • Fidget toys are available in the lobby and the relaxation stations
