The COVID-19 pandemic soured many holiday traditions last year, including the 50th anniversary of the New Jersey Ballet’s original production of “Nutcracker.”
One year later, Clara, the Mouse King, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the rest will savor a sweet return to the stage at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. The first of 10 performances is Friday, Dec. 17, once again with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra playing the live score of Tchaikovsky’s 1892 masterpiece.
“We know that so many families look forward to making ‘Nutcracker’ a centerpiece of their holiday traditions,” said MPAC President and CEO Allison Larena. “We are thrilled to bring back the magic of this seasonal favorite to our stage in 2021.”
