Dear Friends,
This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and I would like to take a few minutes to thank the MPAC volunteer corps for their dedication to our performing arts center.
MPAC volunteers serve a variety of functions, from scanning tickets to working at the concessions bar to seating patrons. MPAC has over 120 active volunteers from all over the area and of all ages. Without them, we simply couldn’t operate on show nights. It’s gratifying to hear from so many of our patrons how you enjoy interacting and getting to know our volunteers. They are such important members of the family.
I also know how anxious our dedicated volunteers are right now being unable to assist our audience members at the theatre. I just want to tell them all how much we miss them and that we look forward to seeing them soon. Let’s continue to lean on each other through this challenging time and before long, we will all be back together.
I would be remiss not to thank MPAC’s dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees whose leadership and generous support ensures the continued vitality of MPAC. Volunteers are the backbone of many non-profit organizations, including MPAC. They deserve so much praise for their enthusiastic efforts.
And special thanks to all of the dedicated volunteers who are helping in so many ways during these troubling days — whether it’s delivering food to someone who cannot make it to the store, donating to organizations in need, assisting at a hospital or other health organization dealing with the crisis, or just keeping in contact with those who are alone.
This week is a celebration of your efforts. Thank you so much for volunteering your time.
