As summer hits full stride, there is still no timetable for venues such as Mayo Performing Arts Center to reopen. We wait in anticipation for instructions from the state, and look forward to the day when we can open our doors again and welcome you back.
During this time, we need your help more than ever to sustain our mission. Venues such as MPAC will be among the last allowed to resume business as usual. Please consider making a donation to our Recovery Campaign. Every dollar helps us get through one more day of our stage being dark. Or, purchase tickets to events in 2021. Now’s the ideal time to get the best seats. Each week, we are putting more 2021 events on sale. With our worry-free purchasing, you can rest assured that if an event is rescheduled, you will have the opportunity to get an account credit or refund if you cannot make the new date.
Our doors may still be closed but we are excited to let you know that one bit of normalcy is returning soon –- our box office is now open for walk-up sales. Check our website for hours, or call prior to coming for our daily schedule
While our stage remains dark, we are busy behind the scenes –- our virtual arts and virtual summer camps are going strong. Our Drive in Concert on June 25 was the first of its kind in New Jersey for a major performing arts center. We are looking at the possibility additional outdoor events later in the summer.
Our staff is currently hard at work planning what a reopening will look like. Our priority is to create a safe and healthy environment where you will feel comfortable returning upon the resumption of events. We are working with other performing arts centers to devise guidelines for employees, patrons, performers and students when it is time to reenter the building. These guidelines are constantly being revised, and we will be communicating these with you as we grow closer to a reopening date.
Enjoy your summer. We thank you so much for your continued enthusiastic support over the past four months, and we hope to see you soon.
