Betty Ann Lee has been named MPAC’s Volunteer of the Month of April.
This recognition program is designed to shine a light on the many individuals who contribute their time and energy toward making MPAC and the MPAC customer experience a success.
Betty Ann has been an MPAC volunteer for 16 years and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2011. She volunteers in numerous roles at MPAC, including concessionaire, school show parking attendant and street teamer.
“I volunteer to meet people and form new friendships, and through the theater, give back to this wonderful community,” she said. “MPAC has offered me different opportunities to work in different areas of the theater, hone people skills and learn about the intricacies of running a theater. And working the school buses is great because seeing all of the excited kids always makes me smile!”
“Betty Ann’s volunteer career here started as ticket taker until we taught her to pour a beer and the rest is history,” said Erin Pach, MPAC’s Front of House Director. “Betty Ann is usually found behind our main concessions stand serving up drinks and snacks. She has become one of our main parking attendants for school shows, helping us run a smooth operation. She loves wearing that orange vest and greeting all the kids. She is dependable and has the most caring heart. If she is not at MPAC, you can probably find her in her garden.”
