First Night Morris County 2020 is the biggest and brightest New Year’s Eve celebration in New Jersey, providing a magnificent family-friendly, alcohol-free and substance-free celebration in 14 venues throughout the heart of Morristown. Our stellar program features over 100 artists, 40 events: dance, theatre, music (rock, jazz, blues, classical, etc.), visual arts, world cultures, children’s programs and so much more.

Your First Night Morris County admission button gives you access to innovative, diverse and high quality performances ideal for participants of all ages. The venues are within close walking distance of one another and the historic Morristown Green. The venues are also accessible via free shuttles which run all evening. With the Dazzling Light Up The Night show at 9:15pm and a Midnight Countdown to Welcome in the New Year at Midnight. For one affordable price, you and your friends and family will enjoy unlimited access to all of our spectacular performances (subject to venue capacities).

For twenty eight years, First Night Morris County has brought world-class entertainment to Morristown on New Year’s Eve.  While some First Nights have either disappeared or become shadows of their former glory, First Night Morris County has found a way to keep the energy and excitement going and today, proudly holds the title of New Jersey’s largest First Night® celebration.

Mission: First Night® Morris County, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, seeks to foster the public’s appreciation of visual and performing arts through an innovative, diverse, and high-quality New Year’s Eve program which offers the community a shared cultural experience that is accessible and affordable to all with Year Round Community Development Thru FNM365.

What is First Night? First Night® Morris County began in 1992 and is now the LARGEST First Night® in New Jersey, attracting nearly 10,000 participants each year. An alcohol-free and substance-free celebration of arts and culture, First Night® Morris County attracts families, seniors, singles and anyone looking for an exciting way to ring in the New Year!

What Is FNM365®? FNM365 is a Year-Round Community Development Program, dedicated to bringing the community together, not only for New Year’s Eve but all 365 days of the year. The FNM365® motto is “Together We Can.”  FNM365® in conjunction with First Night Morris County Partners, Supporters, Volunteers, Patrons, and Community Members provide the following programs: Advisory Board, Artist Entrepreneurship, Button Donation, Community Reinvestment Program (CRP), Economic Empowerment and Literacy Initiative.

Program: First Night® Morris County features more than 100 artists in over 40 performances at 16 venues throughout Morristown ranging from dance and comedy to music and children’s performers. The event has showcased rock and roll, classical, blues, jazz, opera, choral music, and so much more. Attendees return year after year to see their favorite performers and new artists for the first time. Artistic programming is made possible by Morris Arts.  The dazzling Light Up The Light show at 9:15pm and a Midnight Countdown welcome in the New Year at Midnight.

Where is First Night? First Night® performances take place in venues within walking distance of the Morristown Green, including Mayo Performing Arts Center, Morristown High School, county administration buildings, and numerous places of worship in the immediate area. The evening continues regardless of the weather. Free parking is provided at select locations, and complimentary shuttle service runs all evening.

Who Organizes First Night? First Night® Morris County is run by a volunteer Board of Trustees and 6 Committees. Board and/or Committee Members come from a variety of backgrounds and work year-round to support the mission of First Night® Morris County.
