Come out for the ultimate summer dance party! Featuring music from the Newark Arts High Latin Band, Salsa Under the Stars is a chance to enjoy a beautiful summer evening dancing the night away. Free dance lessons provided!
Professional dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Morristown will get the crowd moving with dance instruction & demonstrations! The studio has been a part of the community for over a decade, maintaining a standard of class and excellence in ballroom & latin dance instruction that has a history spanning over 65 years.
The Arts High Latin Band was established a few years ago, but for unknown reasons took a hiatus. Also, during baseball and softball season, many of the students took part in these sports, so the Latin Band became secondary. Then in 2012, a group of students decided that there was a want and need to play the music many had grown up with and so the Latin Band was rejuvenated.
Today the band comprises students from all majors, nationalities and cultural backgrounds. The music is a joyful variety of all genres of music. So sit back, dance in your seats or get up and dance in the areas available. The music will sound good to you, but, the best music the students can hear is the cheers and applause from you.
New to dance? No problem! Professional instructors from Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Morristown will kick off the evening with a beginner Salsa dance lesson. This fun, easy-to-follow introduction to the basic elements of Salsa dancing will get you on your feet and moving to the Latin rhythms in time to get the party started!

Concerts on the Lawn at Vail Mansion will feature a diverse line up of music for all ages perfect for warm summer nights. From poetry to salsa under the stars, the Vail Lawn concerts will feature music to soothe the soul and lift the spirit.
In the event of rain, this event will take place at the Parish Hall at St. Peter’s Church. Look for posted signs.
