Charles Miller, MPAC program consultant and coordinator of the Art Upstairs Gallery at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown, has again invited County College of Morris (CCM) Visual Arts students to show their work in MPAC’s Gallery Space this spring. Not only do Visual Arts students at CCM have the opportunity to show their work to the general public, but several will also be presented with awards during an awards ceremony at the reception.

The Visual Arts Program at CCM will present gift certificates from Blick Art Supplies to the award winners.  The prizes are a $100 Best in Show award, two $50 awards for Award of Merit, and three $25 awards for Honorable Mention.

Serving as judge is well known New Jersey artist Dan Fenelon. Dan is also a partner at Core Creative Placemaking.

Adding to the awards, Mike Dziomba, president of the New Jersey Art Association, will donate an additional $100 prize for Best in Show and Charles Miller will donate two tickets to a MPAC show of choice to each of the student award winners.

The exhibition, featuring approximately 35 pieces, was curated by artist and CCM Professor Todd Doney. The 2025 show will mark the 11th year that MPAC has hosted the CCM Art Students exhibition.

The Art Upstairs Gallery is a gift of the John and Margaret Post Foundation.

“ I am honored to be returning to The Starlight Gallery with a new body of work – United in Beauty: Places, Faces, and Spaces”

An exhibit celebrating the warmth and connection that exists within diversity of inspirational places and the people who inhabit them.

Each painting invites viewers into spaces where humanity converges, where cultures meet, and where shared stories are told, embracing the comforting harmony found in diversity.

Whether inspired by a breathtaking view, a meaningful encounter, or the vivid tapestry of colors found in different people and places, the aim of this exhibit is to remind us that beauty surrounds us, uniting us in shared wonder and belonging.”

The Starlight Gallery is a gift of Wendy and Jay Birnbaum

About the Galleries

The Art Upstairs Gallery is located in the balcony lobby of Mayo Performing Arts Center. Exhibits are varied and showcase visual artists from a variety of mediums including watercolor, oil, photography, sculpture and more. Each year, the works of over 200 artists are showcased in group exhibits. Recent groups that have been showcased include the Essex Watercolor Club, New Jersey Photography Forum, Art in the Atrium and the Pastel Society of New Jersey. The Art Upstairs Gallery is a gift of the John and Margaret Post Foundation.

The Starlight Gallery is adjacent to our Starlight Room, MPAC’s donor lounge.  Exhibits feature individual exhibits by accomplished local artists. The Starlight Gallery is a gift of Wendy and Jay Birnbaum.

The galleries provide a unique opportunity to marry the visual and performing arts, and provide exposure to artists with an audience that may not normally frequent an art gallery. All artwork is available for purchase.

The Galleries are open to ticket holders prior to shows, during intermission, by appointment and every Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 -2:00.  For more information, please contact Charles Miller at cmiller1@mayoarts.org or Lee Kaloidis at 973-539-0345 x6587.
